Dwarkadhish Temple / Jagat Mandir
  • The main draw for tourists coming to Dwarka, the Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir), is believed to have been established more than 2500 years ago by Lord Krishna’s great grandson, Vajranabh.
  • The ancient temple has been renovated several times, especially leaving imprints of 16th and 19th centuries.
  • The temple stands on a small hill accessed by 50 plus steps, with heavily sculptured walls that cocoon the sanctum with the main Krishna idol. and the Dwarkadhish Temple is made of limestone which still stands in pristine condition.
  • Around the complex lie other smaller shrines.
  • The walls have intricately carved mythical characters and legends. The impressive 43 m high spire is topped with a flag made from 52 yards of cloth that flutters in the soft breeze from the Arabian Sea behind the temple.
  • The temple itself has a fascinating legend. The original structure was destroyed by Mahmud Begada in 1472, and subsequently rebuilt in the 15th-16th century.
  • It was also feted by Adi Shankaracharya, the 8th century Hindu theologian and philosopher.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
  • Nageshwar Temple, also known as the Nageshvara Temple, lies on the coast of Saurashtra in Gujarat. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Shrines mentioned in Shiva Purana.
  • The Jyotirlinga is in an underground sanctum. The major attraction of this temple is a 25-meters tall statue of Lord Shiva in a large garden with a pond surrounding the statue.
  • The significance of the Nageshwar temple is that this powerful Jyotirlinga protects the devotees from all kinds of poison. Devotees also believe that the one who prays to the lord becomes free of poison i.e.negativities.

Gomti Ghat
  • At Dwarka city there is a holy Gomati ghat where there are many temple including Gomati Mataji temple.

  • Gomti Ghat is situated at the mouth of the river. A bath in these waters is believed to purge the soul.

Gopi Talav
  • Gopi Talav is a mid size lake located around 20 kms from Dwarka on the way to Bet Dwarka.
  • Legend has it that this lake used to be the childhood memory of Lord Krishna where he used to perform the dance of "raas' for his female admirers, also known as Gopis.
  • The soil here is fine and smooth bearing a yellow color and is believed to have divine properties that can cure many diseases, especially those related to skin.
  • Today, many tourists purchase this soil, popularly known as Gopi Chandan, as a token of their visit.
  • The whole area around Gopi Talav is made up of ghats for bathing with many shrines peppered around them.
  • Many species of fishes and birds are found here thus contributing to a great atmosphere for photography. Gopi Talav is an important component of Dwarka’s sightseeing tour.
Rukmini Devi Temple
  • The Rukmini Devi Temple is a temple in Dwarka, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) away from Dwarka, Gujarat, India.
  • It is dedicated to Goddess Rukmini (Lord Krishna's chief queen, beloved consort and the incarnation of Devi Lakshmi in Dvapara Yuga).
  • The temple is said to be 2,500 years old but in its present form it is inferred to belong to the 12th century.
  • The yatra to Dwarka is completed only after you take darshan of Dwarkeshwari Rukmini Maharani.
  • It is much more modest than Dwarkadhish in structure and sculptures but inspires the same devotional fervour.
  • Carvings of gods and goddesses embellish the exteriors and the main idol of Rukmini is housed in the sanctum. Carved naratharas (human figures) and gajatharas (elephants) feature in the panels at the base of the platform.
Bet Dwarka
  • A small island off the coast of Dwarka and accessed via Okha is home to the namesake temple, and supposedly the residence of Lord Krishna when he arrived here. It is said that Lord Krishna resides with his family.
  • The establishment of the temple is credited to Guru Vallabhacharya. Apart from the main temple, others in the complex commemorate Hanuman, Vishnu, Shiva, Lakshmi Narayan, Jambavati, Devi and others.

  • Also known as Sri Rukminidevi Dwarkadhish Dham, it is one of temples built by ISKCON society and among the popular places of pilgrimage in Dwarka.
  • Sri Rukminidevi Dwarkadhish Dham was established in 1996 by HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj who came to Dwarka to study Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavatam.
  • This is only temple that is made entirely from stone in the history of ISKCON.
  • The main sanctum of the temple consists of beautiful idols of Lord Krishna and Radha in colourful attire.
  • With its gorgeous architecture, peaceful and calm ambiance and the view of the Arabian Sea, the temple has become a tourist attraction as well.
Gita Temple
  • At a distance of 2 km from Dwarkadheesh Temple and 4 km from Dwarka Railway Station, Geeta Mandir is a Vaishnavaite temple on the Arabian Sea coast in Dwarka.
  • It is one of the popular temples in Gujarat and one of the most renowned Dwarka places to visit.
  • Close to Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Mandir, Geeta Mandir was built by the industrialist family of Birla's in 1970 to protect the rich scripture, teachings and values of Bhagavad Gita.
  • There is also a Gita Stambh present in the temple. There are 18 columns and each has one Bhagwad Gita adhyaya.
  • The high carved walls and the temple's ceilings depict the teaching and hymns of Bhagawad Gita.

Sudama Setu
  • Sudama Setu is dedicated to the name of Sant Sudama who was a great friend of Shri Dwarkadhish.
  • This is a newly built suspension pedestrian Bridge over the Gomti river. Which connects Island to the mainland where temple of Shri Dwarkadhish is situated.
  • On the other side of the bridge there is awesome Dwarka Beach with Pristine blue colour water. From there you can also have the amazing memerizing view of Dwarkadhish Temple and Gomti Ghat along with City.
  • The bridge will become an added attraction for devotees and tourists as it will be illuminated with LED lights and will connect the Shri Dhwarkadheesh’s Jagat Mandir with Panchnad Tirth (Panch Kui).

Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple
